Party Like 1899. You may not remember, but a few weeks ago (maybe a month or two even) I had drawn the above picture as a pencil sketch. Yeah, I didn't think you'd remember either. Well, I finally got off my ass and finished the darn thing. I just kept putting it off because I knew that little gizmo in the picture was going to be a bitch to touch up (it was) and I couldn't settle on a colour scheme for the dress in my mind. I even coloured and re-coloured that thing several times before settling on the purple you see before you. I did colour in her hair using a layer, so I'm extra proud of myself for continuing to apply knowledge I gained instead of letting it wither and die on the back shelf of my brain. So, this is pretty much the result of yet another art challenge to draw a Serenity Rose character in a steam punk slant. I had to do a bit of internet research for fashion ideas, and I'm pretty pleased with what I ended up with in that ensemble. It's Victorian, yet it isn't. I had to have the dress slit up the side because I wanted to show off those sweet boot spats with a buckle I designed. Just in case you were wondering.
