Dementors. I finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows about a month ago and it's about time I drew up some fan art, don't you think? This here is inspired by Severus Snape's last memories. In one of them, a young Lily Evans asks Severus, "Tell me about the Dementors again," so this is the first time he told her about them. They'd meet at the neighborhood playground and he'd tell her all about magic and wizards and things. I really think the identity of the characters comes through here. Lily's all adorable with her red hair and big, almond shaped green eyes, and poor unfortunate looking Severus with his big nose, greasy hair which is poorly cut, and sallow, pasty complexion. I wanted to show a little bit of contrast between them, so I gave Severus a basic black outfit with holes at the knees because he's poor, and Lily an absolutely perfectly coordinated and cute ensemble. Now then, let's talk about that background, eh? As everyone ought to know by now, complex backgrounds are my arch nemesis. They just don't work for me. So then, what's all this? Plainly, it's a colouring book page! Yes, I trolled the internet for minutes before stumbling across this, the answer to my naked background prayers. I took a colouring book page and I coloured it, simple. For some reason this pic really did need a background. The two figures alone just weren't cutting it, so I cheated. Yeah, this one's got a few problems, but overall I like it a lot.
