The Day Is Saved!. ...and so, once again, the day is saved, thanks to... the PowerPuff Girls! Ah, but not quite those kindergarteners you remember from the Cartoon Network, huh? This version of The Girls is based on Bleedman's fan comic, where they are a little older and living in a new city. I found this comic simply by accident, but was at once struck by its incredible art and immediately began to read every entry in the archive. I decided to give this new take on The Girl's a try and put them in the "classic" PowerPuff pose from the end of every episode. This pic posed several problems for me such as their hands and feet, having more than one figure in an upright position, foreshortening, and trying to draw similar to someone else's style. It's definitely NOT straight-up Bleedman style, more of a modified me-version. I tried something different with colouring and fooled around with ambient light. which I think works in most places, but not in others. I'll have to work on that as I kind of like the idea. I think each girl's body language and expression came out pretty good, and really fits their character well: Bubbles, excited and cheerful; Buttercup, mischievous and ready to kick some butt; Blossom, confident, powerful and graceful. Yes, I know the background is supposed to be hearts and not circles, sue me.
