Miss California Goyle (Finished). Whattaya know, it's another finished version of a sketch for a contest entry for The Monthly Gargoyles Art Contest! This one is for the June 2009 contest, "I Wish They All Could Be California Goyles"! In order to "capture" the California theme, I decided on rendering the current Miss California, Jackie Geist in Gargoyle form! Thanks to THIS WEBSITE for the reference photos (in case you were wondering what she looked like as a human)! The green skin tone I got based on the colour of Jackie's eyes; it's not right on, but close enough. He light pink lipstick I thought also worked well as her inner wing colour since they both contrast AND compliment! I kept her forehead ridges/horns simple and understated because I wanted to keep the picture about her resemblance to Miss Geist. Sorry about the crap background, but I just wanted a dash of colour for her white dress and light complexion to bounce off of. Her crown was a real bitch to render, and I added the lens flare to sort of distract you from how unsymmetrical it is coz I'm sneaky. I don't know if this thing will win any of the awards in June's contest (as I'm sure there will be many more creative entries better capturing "California" than I did), but I still think this is a good picture regardless.
