A True Icon. Well, hey, here's some more Marilyn lovin'! I am such a fan of hers, it's not even funny. A few years ago I had done a tiny rendition of this famous image as a poster in the background of a picture, and I've always wanted to do a full-sized one since. I went my own way the image a little bit, like tilting her head more and adding emphasis to the shoulders, which I love doing. I was torn as to whether or not add loads of detail or keep it as a simple line drawing; I chose the latter, obviously. I should also mention that I did absolutely NO digital adjustment for this picture. The only computer stuff I did to it was to clean up any dust and scratches from the scan. There are parts where my marker spoodged and I had to fix it up manually by thickening lines I didn't want to thicken, but I chose to leave it as is anyway. I just had this feeling of relying on the computer a tad too much these days and I wanted to show myself I can do an okay job with Adobe's help. I really like the face, hair and shoulders. The fabric folds make no sense.
