Trouble on the Double. Take a gander at these lovely young ladies, before they beat the snot out of you, that is! Yes, it's Dee Dee from Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker! I'd been wanting to draw them ever since the last time I watched that movie, but I only just recently set out to actually do it. I thought it would be cute to have one of them making that face, but had no idea what the other would be doing. I TRIED to have her tugging on the brim of her hat, but her hand just never seemed to make sense! Those boots were one heck of a nightmare as well. It has been a very long time indeed since I had to erase so much in a little drawing such as this. I nearly tore through the paper! Which in turn lead to inking problems, as when the paper surface gets too compromised it can cause your ink to bleed quite a lot. I decided from the start I was going to draw their boots my own way, and not exactly like in the film. I wanted platforms that just plain LOOKED like if you got kicked by them, you'd lose some teeth, and this only brought on more problems, so there are massive amounts of computer touch up there. I attempted something different with the shading techniques on those troublesome boots in an effort to rescue them, and still I am torn as to whether or not I like them, which is why I present here the two versions: full body, boots and all; and closely cropped, sans feet. Both versions have merit, so you decide on your own preference. Yeah, another graffitied brick wall as a back drop. I thought, why not? as I was messing around with the artistic filters and tools in Adobe. The "ha ha ha" paint job is standard Joker-type fare which even gets utilized in Return of the Joker and I thought it really fit Dee Dee. I like their faces.
