Dead Souls. Woah, I haven't drawn The Crow in forever! I have no idea what brought this on; I had an angst craving, I guess. This pic is loosely based on something I drew about ten years ago, where we had Mr. The Crow sitting Indian style on the floor and Death standing behind him with her umbrella closed over her shoulder. This updated version is a bit more, how you say, dynamic. I wanted to work in the crow bird somehow, but couldn't figure out where to put him. This image is very unusual for me in that it contains more than one fandom, but like I said, it's a pairing of characters I've felt strongly about for years. There's a line in Death: The Time of Your Life that goes: "I don't make deals, Hazel." "But you could if you wanted to?" "...I could if I wanted to, yes." which just made me think that Death had made such a deal with Eric here. So, that The Crow is of course based on the original comic book guy by J. O'Barr and Death is based on the drawings by Chris Bachalo and Mark Buckingham. The title of it is a Joy Division song which was used as a chapter title in The Crow comic.
