Kevin Thompson as Ash Williams. Well, looky
here, it's Lawndale quarterback Kevin Thompson as Ash from Evil Dead 2! I
took the widely circulated publicity image of actor Bruce Campbell because it
was the most famous Ash Williams image I could think of, second only to the
Army of Darkness poster. I was not going to parody the Army of Darkness
poster. Not for this. No way. The funny thing about this famous image is that it
is often used on "this is my BOOMSTCK!" posters and T-shirts, but the shot is
from Evil Dead 2 and the "boomstick" quote is from Army of Darkness.
Anyhoo, I thought Kevin looked enough like Bruce to make this alter ego work. A
couple of notes: You'll notice no football pads on Kevin. The end credit alter
egos are half and half with keeping on the pads. I opted out of them. Secondly,
Kevin's face is all serious, which it pretty much never is (he's too stupid to
think seriously about anything, really). This was choice by me because I felt it
better suited the overall image. Agree or disagree with that selection. It's up
to you. Lastly, why oh why did I elect to draw a character with BOTH a shotgun
AND a chainsaw? I do not have the skills to draw either of those things, but
there they are. At least you can tell what they're supposed to be.
