Annabelle. This is Annabelle, the storytelling doll from Serena Valentino's comic book, Nightmares and Fairytales. I'd been wanting to draw something lately without knowing what, and well, I recently picked up the latest Fairytales issues, so here she is. I tried something new with this one. First off, there's the poem quote, "Annabel Lee" by Edgar Allen Poe, which was hand lettered by me. I HATE hand lettering stuff, but thought it would give this drawing a little more, I dunno, "feeling" than if I had done it on the computer. Also, there's the fact that this is only a pencil sketch, which I decided to color. There's a great brush in Adobe that gives the look of watercolor, which is what I used. I didn't do a detailed coloring job on this one because I was shooting for a particular look. I like it okay, I guess. Yeah, my lettering is all weird and the perspective is shot to hell and all, but meh.
